Abstract

On May 2, 2002, Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) surveyed seven intersections along State Route 22 in Baldwin County, in Milledgeville, Georgia (Figure 1). The survey was undertaken to ensure that the Georgia Department of Transportation is in compliance with Federal regulations concerning the disposition and protection of significant cultural resources (National Historic Preservation Act of 1966--as amended). The goal of the survey was to locate, describe and evaluate the significance of archeological sites within the areas of potential effect for the seven intersections. No archeological sites were discovered, and we recommend no further archeological study is needed at any of these intersections.
