Abstract

On November 12, 2002, Southeastern Archeological Services, Inc. (SAS) archeologically surveyed six highway/street intersections in the town of Fairburn in southern Fulton County, Georgia (Figure 1). The survey was undertaken to ensure that the Georgia Department of Transportation is in compliance with Federal regulations concerning the disposition and protection of significant cultural resources (National Historic Preservation Act of 1966--as amended). Four of the intersections lie wholly or partially within the Fairburn Commercial Historic District. No archeological sites were discovered, and no further archeological studies are needed at these intersections.
