Abstract

From July 1, 2002 to October 18, 2002, Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI) conducted an intensive archaeological survey of 952 hectares (ha.) (2,353 acres [ac.]) within the Fort Benning Military Reservation near Columbus, Georgia. The survey area consisted of Training Areas E5, E6, E8, and G I (TA-E5, E6, E8, and G I ), which are located in the southern to southeastern portion of the military base. A total of 43 cultural loci were investigated during this survey, including 25 sites and 18 isolated finds. Four sites (9CE2524, 9CE2525, 9CE2549, and 9CE2552) are recommended to be indeterminate for inclusion in the NRHP. No further work is recommended for the remaining sites and isolated finds.
