Abstract

Original: The proposed project would resurface, re-stripe and widen SR 16. SR 16 would be widened six feet symmetrically with curb and gutter. Sidewalks would be installed from South Maple Street on both sides to east of the Rooty Creek bridge. North and South Maple Streets would be changed to one-way streets. East Oconee Street would be realigned away from the at-grade railroad crossing and would be made a right-in/right-out only tie in. The proposed project would acquire a total of 0.95 acre of additional right-of-way. The proposed project would install two 12-foot travel lanes on SR 16, one in each direction, with a 12-foot two-way left turn lane. CS 542 and 502 would have one 14-foot travel lane. both being one-way in the southbound direction. CS 515, 516 and CR 216 would have two 12-foot travel lanes, one in each direction.
