This project proposes to replace the bridge on SR 234 over Chickasawhatchee Creek, 8 miles northeast of the City of Leary, Calhoun County, Georgia. The existing 352'x26' concrete bridge will be replaced with a 400'x40' concrete bridge on new alignment south of the existing bridge. In addition, an existing 9'x6'x40' concrete bridge culvert over a Chickasawhatchee tributary will be replaced with a 9'x6'x54' bridge culvert. Existing right-of-way is 100' to 150', with an additional 100' to 250' of right-of-way required for the new bridge. The total length of this project is 1.37 miles.
