Abstract

This document presents the results of Phase I cultural resources survey and archeological inventory of the 195.59 km (121.54 mi) Georgia portion of the proposed Cypress Pipeline Project corridor and its associated access roads and extra-workspaces in Chatham, Bryan, Liberty, Long, McIntosh, Glynn, Wayne, Camden, and Charlton Counties, Georgia. The archeological survey and inventory of the proposed pipeline right-of-way and the related project items was completed on behalf of Cypress Natural Gas Company, L.L.C., a wholly owned subsidiary of Southern Natural Gas Company, by R. Christopher Goodwin & Associates, Inc., between August and December of 2000 and in January of 2001. This investigation was designed to identify and to evaluate the significance of all cultural resources (archeological sites, non-site loci, isolated finds, standing structures, cemeteries, and traditional cultural properties) situated within the proposed Areas of Potential Effect (APE) that may be impacted as a result of this undertaking.
