Under a continuing services contract with the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI) conducted mitigation of the construction of a permanent checkpoint station that impacted 9ME63, a site previously recorded and recommended as eligible for inclusion in the NRHP. The site was located within the Main Post cantonment area of Fort Benning, Georgia. This work was undertaken in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1996. During the course of the construction project, no cultural resources were impacted.
