Abstract

Archaeological Assessment of Project BRST-090-1(20), Coffee County. The proposed project would replace the existing bridge on US 221/SR 135 over Tiger Creek, approximately 6.0-miles northeast of the town of Douglas. The existing 108' X 24' bridge structure will be replaced with a quadruple 10' X 6' concrete bridge culvert on existing alignment. US 221/SR 135 will remain open during construction utilizing an on-site detour. Existing right-of-way along US 221/SR 135 is approximately 100' with approximately 60' of additional required right-of-way needed for bridge construction and approximately 95' of additional required right-of-way needed for the on-site detour. The total project length is approximately 1400' or 0.265-mile. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted for the entire length of the project corridor.
