Abstract

The proposed construction will raise the mainline GA 400 alignment over SR 53 with two parallel bridges (75.25ft/23m wide and 124ft/38m long). Northbound and southbound frontage roads will be constructed along GA 400 within the project limits. The interchange will consist of a compressed diamond configuration and SR 53 will be widened to four 12-foot (3.7m) lanes with a 20-foot (6m) raised median section including curb, gutter, and sidewalk. Dual left turn lanes will be provided on all approaches. Lumpkin Campground Road will be improved with single left and single right turn lanes in both directions on the approaches to SR 53. Dawson Forest Road will be improved with single left and right turn lanes in both directions on the approaches to GA 400. There were negative findings.
