Abstract

The proposed project would replace the bridge on existing alignment. The proposed bridge would be approximately 360 ft long and 44 ft wide and accommodate two 12-ft travel lanes with 10-ft shoulders. The proposed roadway approaches would consist of two 12-ft travel lanes with 10-ft shoulders (2 ft would be paved). The proposed ROW on SR 156 would increase by 100 to 120 ft, for a total ROW that varies from 200 to 220 ft. The proposed ROW on Kirby Rd. would increase by up to 120 ft, for a total ROW that varies from 100 to 220 ft. The total amount of required ROW would be approximately 6.5 acres. The proposed bridge would be approximately 10 ft higher than the existing bridge to provide clearance of flood elevations. The higher bridge would also be longer and end near the intersection of Kirby Rd. and SR 156. The intersection would be realigned approximately 25 ft to the east, to a more favorable 90-degree angle, and to provide clearance for the intersection.
