Abstract

The GDOT archaeological report short form for negative findings for an Addendum to Phase I Archaeological Survey of Lavista Road, North Druid Hills Road, Chamblee Tucker Road and Lawrenceville Highway Signal Design Project Areas in DeKalb County, Georgia. The proposed project would consist of traffic signal upgrades at 34 intersections in DeKalb County. The project would improve the overall efficiency and safety of traffic flow due to upgraded traffic signal displays and state-of-the-art traffic signal control equipment and provide better signal coordination through new signal interconnection cable and improve pedestrian safety with improved crosswalk, pedestrian signals and sidewalk ramps where appropriate. All work would take place within existing rights-of-way. Please see attached sheet for a list of the intersections. Since the original project was submitted, one new intersection at Brockett Road and Bancroft Road/Moon Road has been added and four others have been dropped: Lawrenceville Highway at Montreal Road, at I-285 Southbound Ramps, at I-285 Northbound Ramps, and at Crescent Centre Boulevard. No shovel tests were excavated as the project area has been previously disturbed by road, driveway, parking lot, and sidewalk construction and by grading and landscaping.
