Abstract

The proposed project would re-stripe Glenwood Rd. and construct a raised median on the east side of the interchange. An island would be installed at Glenfair Rd. to allow only right-in/right-out movements. An additional right turn land would be constructed on the northbound off ramp and storage length would be increased on the right turn land on the southbound off ramp. Improvements would be made to the turning radii on the I-285 on ramps to improve turning movement. Crosswalks would be installed at the ramp interchanges and at Austin Dr. Improvements to the signal timing at the I-285 interchanges would also be made. Sidewalks would be installed on the south side of Glenwood Rd. west of the interchange and on both sides of Glenwood Rd. east of the interchange. The existing pavement sections of the I-285 on and off ramps will be removed and reconstructed with full depth concrete pavement. Portions of the existing asphalt pavement on Glenwood Rd. to the east and west of the I-285 overpass will be removed and reconstructed with full depth concrete pavement. Approximately 0.16 acre of ROW and 0.37 acre of permanent easement would be required for the proposed project.
