Abstract

This project is a wetland mitigation located on the border of Dekalb and Rockdale counties. Proposed restoration activities are expected to enhance the ecological and hydrological functions of the proposed mitigation area. The restoration of 2,160 linear feet of second-order tributary to the South River is planned. Stream restoration activities would consist of removing the Southerness Lake earthen dam, stabilizing exposed surfaces, and restoring 2,160 linear feet of stream channel. The McBride Tract consists of approximately 120 acres. It is located approximately 750 feet south of the South River in Rockdale County. News Bridge road marks its northern boundary and Union Church Road marks its eastern boundary. A number of small tributaries run through the project tract. The restoration of 2,160 linear feet along these tributaries is planned.
