The proposed project would consist of improvements to State Route (SR) 5/Maxham Road beginning at Old Alabama Road and ending at Veterans Memorial Highway southeast of the City of Austell. The existing typical section along SR 5/Maxham Road consists of two, 12-ft travel lanes in each direction. The proposed improvements include the construction of a raised concrete median between the northbound and southbound travel lanes and the construction of curb and gutter and sidewalk along both sides of SR 5/Maxham Road. Existing right-of-way along SR 5/Maxham Road is approximately 100 ft. The proposed right-of-way required for implementation of the project is approximately 120 ft. Total project length is approximately one mile.
