Abstract

The proposed project would consist of a 15th Street HOV Bridge Interchange over I-75/I-85 in Fulton County, Georgia (see attached location map). The mainline bridge is approximately 800 feet in length with associated roadway length of approximately .5 miles. Fifteenth Street will run from approximately Fowler Street on the west side to West Peachtree on the east. An interchange bridge will consist of combined on/off ramps from south of 141 Street (HOV only) towards the 151 Street Bridge. On/Off ramps will also lead to the bridge from the Brookwood interchange HOV lanes. On/Off ramps will be separate on their respective take offs but will combine by arrival at the bridge. The project will include.2 miles of roadway improvement on Fowler Street at 151, Street in the area known as Home Park. Total mainline length for the project is approximately 1.7 miles with approximately 2100 feet of total bridges (mainline and ramps). Mainline will consist of four lanes, median, and pedestrian facilities. Ramps are anticipated to vary between 1-2 lanes each, depending upon location. Existing right-of-way on 151 Street is 50 feet on the west side of I-75/I-85 and 60 feet on the east side. Proposed right-of-way would be 150 feet; however, because the proposed project consists of a bridge over an interstate corridor, most of the additional right-of-way needed will fall within the existing I-75/I-85 right-of-way.
