Abstract

During January 2007, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted a Phase I archeological resources survey of the proposed Little Bear Creek Wastewater Treatment Expansion Area in Henry County, Georgia. The expansion area covers 7.1-hectare (17.5 acres) around the existing Bear Creek Waste Water Treatment Plant. No National Register of Historic Places listed or eligible resources are located within or adjacent to the project area. One previously recorded archeological site, 9HY253, is located within the project area. No recorded historic buildings/structures are within the Area of Potential Effects for the proposed undertaking. Archeological site 9HY253 was relocated during the current field survey and the boundaries further refined. Based on the high level of disturbance observed during shovel testing, no additional archeological work is recommended for 9HY253 or the proposed Little Bear Creek wastewater treatment plant expansion area.
