Abstract

This project was conducted in advance of extending Lithonia Industrial Boulevard, on new alignment, from a newly constructed interchange at Interstate 20 (1-20) to Evans Mill Road. The original proposed alignment was modified at public request to allow for direct access to Evans Mill Road rather than the corridor ending in a culde-sac. Area of Potential Effect. The area of potential effect (APE) consists of proposed new alignment approximately 1000 feet in length, beginning at STA 111 along the original planned new alignment, and terminating at Evans Mill Road just north of its intersection with Rockview Way. The proposed right-of-way (ROW) for this new alignment portion is 120 feet wide. An approximately 1000-foot corridor was surveyed. The area affected was investigated with shovel test pits excavated at a 100-foot (30-meter) intervals, where possible.
