Abstract

The project consists of a Phase I archaeological Survey of a proposed pedestrian bridge over Interstate 285 at Church Street in DeKalb County. Although no plans were available at the time of the survey, the project corridor was assumed to feature a right-of-way no greater than 100 feet and east and west approaches of no more than 1,000 feet total. Field coverage was accomplished by pedestrian survey. The archaeologist walked the centerline of the corridor and inspected the ground surface for artifacts and features. Shovel tests were excavated at a 30meter interval until subsoil was encountered.
