Abstract

Site 1 I-75 Exit #2 - CR 274 / Bellville Road / Lake Park Road: The project proposes to replace the existing bridge over I-75 and relocate the ramp termini. The bridge will be lengthened to accommodate any future widening of I-75. The new bridge is proposed as a three-lane facility with a center turn lane for left-turn bay storage. The typical section of the bridge and the cross-road is a rural section with a paved outside shoulder. The vertical alignment of the proposed bridge will be improved to match the 45 MPH speed of Bellville Road. Turn lane storage will be provided at the ramp intersections. Channelized right turn lanes are proposed for traffic turning onto the interstate on-ramps. Additional limit of access will be required along Bellville Road to comply with current policy. Site 2 I-75 Exit #5 - SR 376 / Lakes Boulevard: The project proposes to replace the existing bridge over I-75 and relocate the ramp termini. The bridge over I-75 will be lengthened to accommodate future widening of I-75 and will maintain the existing six lanes; two through lanes and a left turn lane in each direction. The proposed typical section will match the existing number of lanes with curb and gutter for the shoulders. Turn lane storage will be provided at the ramp intersections. Dual left-turns from I-75 south bound ramp to SR 376 eastbound are proposed. Channelized right turn lanes on both off ramps are also proposed. Additional limit of access will be required along Lake Boulevard to comply with current policy. Site 3 I-75 Mile Post 6.12 - CR 783 / Loch Laurel Road Overpass: The project proposes to replace the existing bridge over I-75. The bridge will be lengthened to accommodate future widening of I-75. The typical section will be rural. The proposed bridge will be constructed just south of the existing bridge. Frontage Road will be relocated further away from the bridge to improve sight distance at the intersection with CR 783. Site 4 I-75 Exit #11 - SR 31 / Madison Highway: The project proposes to replace the existing bridges over I-75 and relocate the ramp termini. The bridge over I-75 will be lengthened to accommodate future widening of I-75. Proposed improvements include additional capacity on the bridge and approaches over I-75 as well as additional capacity for the entrance and exit ramps to and from I-75. Additional turning lanes are also proposed. The proposed bridge will provide two lanes in each direction with a double left turn lane for westbound traffic entering I-75 southbound and a single left turn lane for eastbound traffic entering I-75 northbound. The proposed bridge would be 7 lanes wide. Additional limit of access will be required along Madison Highway to comply with current policy. Site 5 I-75 Exit #18 - SR 133 / St. Augustine Road: The project proposes to replace the existing bridge over 1-75 and relocate the ramp termini. The bridge over I-75 will be lengthened to accommodate future widening of I-75. The proposed project will provide additional capacity on the bridge and approaches over I-75 as well as additional capacity for the entrance and exit ramps to and from I-75. Safety will be enhanced by providing additional turning lanes, increased storage capacity, and a raised median through the interchange area. The entrance and exit ramps to and from I-75 will be lengthened and widened to accommodate future traffic volumes. The project proposes to realign the staggered existing ramps so that the left turning exiting and entering traffic at each ramp terminal will be controlled by a traffic signal. Additional limit of access will be required along St. Augustine Road to comply with current policy.
