Ph. 1 Arch. Survey of the Marietta Blvd. at Bolton Rd. Int. Impr. Project Area, Fulton Co., GA

The proposed project would consist of the reconfiguration of the existing six-way intersection at Marietta Boulevard, Bolton Road, Adams Drive and Plant Road in Atlanta, Georgia. The proposed project would include the closure of two of the approaches: westbound Bolton Road and northbound Adams Drive. Access from westbound Bolton Road to Marietta Boulevard would be provided by extending Moores Mill Road to intersect with Marietta Boulevard. This extension would be constructed by a private developer. Access from Adams Drive to Bolton Road would be provided by Marietta Boulevard along existing local routes such as LaDawn Lane, Dunseath Avenue and Queen Street. Signalized intersections would be provided along Moores Mill Road at Bolton Road and Marietta Boulevard. The southbound Plant Road approach and the northbound Bolton Road approach would be maintained. Project plans also would upgrade the section of Marietta Boulevard from the existing intersection with Bolton Road to just north of the proposed intersection with Moores Mill Road. The existing typical section along Marietta Boulevard includes two through lanes in each direction and left and- right turn lanes in each direction. The lanes are approximately 9.5 feet wide. The proposed typical section would include two to three l2-foot travel lanes in each direction separated by a four-foot to 20-foot raised concrete median, a 12-foot center turn lanes, 12-foot right and left turn lanes, and 12-foot shoulders on the south side of Marietta Boulevard that would include 2-foot 6-inch curb and gutter and 5-foot sidewalks. Existing right-of-way is 120 feet. A minimum of 112 feet of right-of-way is required for project implementation.
