Abstract

In June 2005, R.S. Webb & Associates conducted a Phase I cultural resources survey of the proposed 110acre Canton Marketplace development tract Cherokee County, Georgia. An additional 36 acres adjacent to the project tract were added and surveyed in January 2006. In November 2006, an additional 10.2 acres were surveyed. The work was conducted for The Sembler Company. The purpose of the study was to locate and identify cultural resources within the proposed project area and assess cultural resource significance based on National Register of Historic Places (NRHP) criteria (36 CFR Part 60.4). The survey included an update of the literature/records search and an intensive field survey of the 10.2-acre project area.
