Abstract

This letter report represents an addendum to the previously submitted document titled Phase I Cultural Resources Survey and Archeological Inventory of the Proposed 6 km (3.7 mi) Southern Natural Gas Company 16 in O.D. Upson County and West Georgia Generating Meter Station Project Corridor, Upson, Georgia (George et al. 1999). It presents the results of Phase I cultural resources survey and archeological inventory of one unsurveyed segment of the proposed pipeline corridor, four pipeline reroutes, two access roads, one staging area, and one warehouse site expansion; each of these project items are located in Upson County, Georgia (Figure 1, Sheets 1 and 2; Table 1). A summary of the field methods utilized to complete this investigation, as well as a description of each survey item, is presented below. Information pertaining to the natural, prehistoric, and historic period settings of the project region, as well as review of the previous archeological investigations completed in this area, is contained in the above-referenced document.
