Abstract

GDOT Project STP-2564(4) would consist of the replacement of the existing bridge on McGinnis Ferry over the Chattahoocee River; the current survey is a reevaluation addressing the development of an additional 3.35-acre parcel as a boat ramp and picnic area. The current survey was effected to realize any possible cultural resources which may be impacted by the development of the 3.35-acre tract. The area of potential effects for this project is the 3.35-acre footprint of the designated lot. This parcel of land is located approximately 15 meters north of McGinnis Ferry Road and borders to the immediate west of the Chattahochee River. The project boundaries extend north approximately 320 feet from the McGinnis Ferry Road right-of-way and continues west 85 feet. The western edge of the property is an existing road running roughly north to south and intersecting McGinnis Ferry Road. The area surveyed borders the previously surveyed sediment basin to the north and east.
