The overall project is the widening and reconstruction of Carpenter Road on the west side of Tifton. The project begins at the intersection with US 82/SR 520 and ends at Davis Road/CR 216, with the total length being 2.5 miles. The focus of this survey was the intersection of Carpenter Road and Whiddon Mill Road, where the turn lanes on Whiddon Mill Road will lengthened by about 330 to 440 feet. This will require the acquisition of new right-of-way along these segments. Maximum width of the new right-of-way for the turn lanes is 50 feet on either side of Whiddon Mill Road. These areas have not previously been surveyed, unlike the rest of the project.
