Abstract

The proposed project would re-stripe Glenwood Road and construct a raised median on the east side of the interchange. An island would be installed at Glenfair Road to allow only right-in/rightout movements. An additional right turn lane would be constructed on the northbound off ramp and storage length would be increased on the right turn lane on the southbound off ramp. Improvements would be made to the turning radii on the 1-285 on ramps to improve turning movement. Crosswalks compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) would be installed at the ramp interchanges and at Austin Drive. Improvements to the signal timing at the I285 interchanges would also be made. Sidewalks compliant with the ADA would be installed on the south side of Glenwood Road west of the interchange and on both sides of Glenwood Road east of the interchange. The existing pavement sections of the 1-285 on and off ramps will be removed and reconstructed with full depth concrete pavement. Portions of the existing asphalt pavement on Glenwood Road to the east and west of the 1-285 overpass will be removed and reconstructed with full depth concrete pavement. Approximately 0.16 acre of right-of-way and 0.37 acre of permanent easement would be required for the proposed project.
