Abstract

Currently, the SR 247 Connector is a four-lane roadway with a raised median going from the western limits of the project, near Margie Drive to South Houston Road. Between South Houston Road and Hawkinsville Road (US 129), the existing roadway has four through lanes and a center turn lane. The proposed project would extend the raised median section from South Houston Road to Hawkinsville Road (US 129). Turn lanes and expanded turning radii would also be included at several locations. The project limits on the SR 247 Connector extend from just west of Margie Drive to the roadway's intersection with Hawkinsville Road (US 129), approximately 6.6 miles. The existing right-of-way varies from 80 to 100 feet wide. The proposed right-of-way/easement width would range between 100 and 120 feet.
