2nd Adden. To the Phase I & II Arch. Investigations of the Proposed Ball Street Extension

Original Project Description: The proposed project involves the extension of Ball Street for 1.05 miles from Larry Walker Parkway/SR 224 on the south to the intersection with Duncan Avenue on the north. Approximately 1,300 ft of new location would be required for the proposed undertaking; the remainder of the proposed right-of-way (ROW) is in areas where industrial or railroad construction has caused previous disturbances. The beginning tie-in point on Larry Walker Parkway would be directly across from Limerock Road. New Project Description: The project limits have extended approximately 175 feet to the southeast on SR 224/Larry Walker Parkway to accommodate a longer right turn lane onto the Ball Street Extension. The proposed right turn lane has been extended by approximately 165 feet, from 275 feet to 440 feet. All work in this area would be done within existing right-of-way. The traffic signal would no longer be added to the intersection with SR 224/Larry Walker Parkway because the traffic volumes did not warrant a signal. The previous project description erroneously stated that a traffic signal would be included at the intersection with Duncan Avenue. Two additional sediment basins and associated temporary easements have been added for erosion control. Other drainage and erosion modifications including special ditches and riprap additions have been made based upon design refinements. The maximum required right-of-way width would remain approximately 220 feet, though the total areas of right-of-way and easement have been modified based upon the sediment basins and other drainage revisions. The total amount of required right-of-way has increased by approximately. 0.2 acre, from 16.9 acres to 17.1 acres. The total amount of permanent easement has decreased by approximately 0.9 acre, from 1.7 acres to 0.8 acre. The total temporary easement has increased by approximately 1.40 acres, from 0.27 acre to 1.67 acres.
