From January 7 to June 25, 2008 Panamerican Consultants, Inc. (PCI) conducted an intensive archaeological investigation of 27 sites on Fort Benning Military Reservation. The testing was completed under the terms of a contract (No. W911 SF-06-D-00 13, Delivery Order 7) between PCI and the Fort Benning Military Reservation. The purpose of this investigation, as specified in the Statement of Work (Appendix D), was to facilitate Fort Benning's compliance with the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended; Executive Order 11593 (Protection and Enhancement of the Cultural Environment); and the Archaeological and Historic Preservation Act of 1974.
