Abstract

The proposed project would widen an existing privately owned road parallel to Interstate 85 from approximately 487.7 m (1600 ft) southeast of the Banks' county line in Jackson County until reaching a point approximately 289.6 m (950 ft) south of Ridgeway Road in Banks County. At that point, the proposed road would continue northerly on new location to intersect with Ridgeway Road approximately 121.9 m (400 ft) west of the existing intersection. The proposed road would then continue northeasterly to intersect with US 441/SR 15 approximately 152.4 m (500 ft) northwest of the Ridgeway Road and US 441/SR 15 intersection for a total distance of approximately 1.32 km (0.82 mi). The proposed project would require approximately 27.4 m (90 ft) of right-of-way. An archaeological survey consistent with the proposed right-of-way was conducted for the entire length of the project corridor.
