The proposed site of a five story home for the elderly in Fitzgerald, Ben Hill County, Georgia is located in the southeast quadrant of the town. This three part report: (1) describes the history of Fitzgerald and the historical and architectural context of the buildings which presently occupy the site, (2) details the archaeological survey of the property which was carried out on February 12, 1978, and (3) makes a recommendation as to the historical and archaeological significance of the site.
