Abstract

Cultural Resource Services, Inc. of Marietta, Georgia conducted an archaeological survey of the McIntosh Reserve, Carroll County, Georgia during the period April-May, 1980. This intensive, reconnaissance level survey recorded a total of nineteen pre-historic/historic sites in an area of 487 acres, along with physical remains of fish weirs and mining activity. Six of these sites are considered worthy of further testing; the remaining thirteen represent prehistoric/historic artifact scatters. Historic research concerning the Reserve is presented in this report, along with descriptions of survey methodologies and the sites identified.
