The proposed route of the Viniard-Alexander Connector is identified on the attached map. While this route would cause some losses to historic sites, it would appear to be much less damaging than the D.O.T. alternative, The primary advantage of the Viniard-Alexander Connector is that it does not directly impact any significant areas of battle activity. Though the proposed route would cut through staging areas and areas of preliminary battle maneuvers, its location is generally south and. east of the battle lines of September 19 and 20.
