Intensive archaeological survey was conducted by Southern Research in 1996 and 1997 on land management Compartment K-11, which is located in Chattahoochee County, Georgia. This work was done for the U.S. Army Infantry Center, Directorate of Public Works, Environmental Division, Fort Benning Military Reservation, in compliance with Section 110 of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966. Fifty-nine archaeological loci were identified (42 sites and 17 isolated finds). Twenty-one sites were identified that are potentially eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). Protective measures are recommended for these sites.
