This letter represents the preliminary archaeological report for the proposed sewage system improvements for the City of Athens, Contract Number 10-32-RR104-039. To date approximately 60 percent of the area has been surveyed. This area includes O'Kelly Road, the North Oconee River, Stockade and Cedar Creeks, and a portion of Turkey and McNutt's Creeks. Fourteen prehistoric and three historic sites have been recorded. Sites have been numbered consecutively within each interceptor and are located on the attached maps. University of Georgia site numbers are enclosed in parentheses.
