Abstract

On March 17, 1935, an archeological survey of a small portion (less than five acres land) of the south end of Sea Island was undertaken and completed. This survey was done by Dr. Sue M. Moore, Professor of Anthropology, Georgia Southern College,, with the assistance of Timothy J. Moore. The assessment was requested by Mr. William Foster of Thomas and Hutton Engineering Company based out of Savannah as a preliminary before undertaking a beach nourishment program.
