Abstract

The area to be effected by the proposed bridge construction was surveyed on foot. The survey revealed that there are four large stone piers 10 ft. long, 12 ft. high, at the southwest end of the bridge. These piers are made of granite blocks and are oriented in such a way that they probably did not serve as supports for an earlier bridge. Their purpose is not known. Other than the piers, no features or artifacts of interest were visible. No further investigations are recommended.
