The proposed projects EDS-27(114) and NH-IM-85-1(160) would provide a new location roadway connecting US 27/SR 1 with the 1-85 and 1-185 interchange, and modify the existing 1-85 and 1-185 interchange to provide a fully directional interchange with US 27/SR 1. The new location US 27/SR 1 Connector roadway would begin on the existing US area, and the interchange improvements at 1-85/1-185 would provide 27/SR 1 alignment immediately south of West Point Lake, continue east/southeast on new location, and end northwest of the existing 1-85 and 1-185 interchange. The new location segment would consist of four travel lanes, two in each direction, separated by a grassed median. The total project length would be approximately 5.8 miles. Project NH-IM85-1(160) would modify the existing 1-85 and 1-185 interchange, to provide access to the new US 27/SR 1 Connector. The interchange includes approximately 2.7 miles of new or upgraded ramp construction.
