Abstract

On July 26 and 29, 2002, TRC conducted a cultural resources survey for two proposed force mains in Gwinnett County, Georgia. The Yellow/Sweet to Beaver Ruin portion of the project runs from the extant Yellow/Sweet Water Reclamation Facility (WRF) along Tom Smith, Lester, and Pleasant Hill roads, and terminates at the Beaver Ruin WRF. The No Business Creek Pump Station is located north of Springdale Road, and runs mostly along Springdale Road. A single grave of Buford G. Browne was also investigated during the survey. Although this grave is outside of the Yellow/Sweet to Beaver Ruin force main right-of-way, TRC recommends that construction activities in the area be limited to the area southeast of the drainage ditch that lies between the grave and the project corridor. No other cultural resources were identified along the project corridors. No additional cultural resource investigations are recommended for these two corridors.
