Abstract

On June 3rd and 4t 2003, an intensive cultural resource assessment survey was conducted by Environmental Services, Inc. (ESI) of Jacksonville, Florida, of a 13-acre parcel in Effingham County, .GA. The tract is the location for a proposed Wastewater Treatment Facility. The goal of the survey was to locate, identify, delineate, and evaluate all cultural resources within the cultural resource assessment survey included a pedestrian inspection combined with systematic shovel testing at 30-meter intervals. No structural or archaeological remains were encountered within the study area. Based on these results, it is recommended that the proposed project be allowed to proceed without further concern for impact to significant cultural resources.
