Report Abstracts

The purpose of this project was to conduct an archaeological survey of a proposed 500 KV electric transmission line between the Vogtle Nuclear Generating Plant and the Wadley Substation northwest of Wadley, Georgia (Figure 1-1).

The survey area of the proposed Milledgeville 201 facilities plan was examined for the purpose of locating and assessing the significance of any prehistoric or historic resources which may exist. One small site, represented by a surface scatter of debris, was found.

The 4.5 mile survey area for the proposed Fairview-Stockbridge transmission line, Henry County, Georgia, was surveyed for the purposed of identifying any sites within the survey area which may be eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. No such sites were found.

The site of the proposed Cedar Mountain substation, Douglas County, Georgia, was intensively surveyed for the purpose of identifying any significant sites which might exist on the property. No significant sites were found within the survey area.

This report summarized the results of a cultural resources survey of the town of Shenandoah, Georgia.

The proposed College Square substation and transmission line, Hall County, Georgia, was surveyed for the purpose of identifying any significant prehistoric or historic sites which might exist on the property. No sites were found within the survey area.

A cultural resources survey was conducted on a 59 ha (146 ac) tract of gently rolling farm land that is to be used as a spray irrigation wastewater treatment site for the town of Vienna, Georgia.

A cultural resources survey of a 40 foot wide, 7,000 foot long sewer corridor and a 400 square foot pumping station was conducted just north of Jasper, Georgia in Pickens County. The area was characterized by steep valleys and poorly drained flood plains of small streams.

Southeastern Wildlife Services, Inc., Athens, Georgia, was selected to conduct a cultural resources survey on two parcels of land situated within the boundaries of Ft. Benning Military Reservation, Muscogee County, Georgia.

Southeastern Wildlife Services, Inc. has conducted a background and literature review and field survey at Fort Benning, Georgia. The project area includes approximately 481 ha in Muscogee and Chattahoochee Counties, Georgia.
