The Earth Systems Division of SSI is pleased to submit this final Archaeological Survey Report for the Claxton, Georgia Proposed Land Application Site. The report contains a detailed account of the findings and recommendations of our survey.

This report details the methods and results of an intensive archaeological survey conducted along a proposed 125 foot wide and 15.4 mile long transmission line corridor in Putnam County, Georgia, at the request of the Georgia Power Company.

The purpose of this project was to conduct a cultural resource survey of the proposed Phase III expansion of the Chattahoochee Nature Center in Fulton County, Georgia near the City of Roswell.

The purpose of this project was to conduct an archaeological survey of a proposed 500 KV electric transmission line between the Vogtle Nuclear Generating Plant and the Wadley Substation northwest of Wadley, Georgia (Figure 1-1).

A cultural and biological resource survey was conducted in the area of the proposed water supply reservoir in Fayette County, Georgia. The survey was conducted at the request of Mallett and Associates for the Fayette County Water Authority.

An intensive archaeological survey was performed on the proposed Robin Springs Substation site in Washington County, Georgia for the Oglethorpe Power Company. Archival sources were consulted to locate existing sites and provide background data.

An ecological and archaeological survey was made of the proposed North Coweta Substation in Coweta County, Georgia for Oglethorpe Power Company. No cultural resources were noted in the project area based on the archaeological survey and accompanying archival. research.

In August and September 1991, New South Associates conducted a Phase 1 cultural resources survey of the approximately 4.8 mile Lawrenceville-Suwanee road widening project for Moreland Altobelli Associates.

In August and September 1991, New South Associates conducted a Phase 1 cultural resources survey of the approximately 4.8 mile Lawrenceville -Old Norcross road widening project for Moreland Altobelli Associates.

The conclusions in this report are based on shovel test data and historical research conducted in the Martin Luther King, Jr. and Altama road widening corridors in Brunswick, Georgia in March, 1992.
