Abstract

"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project AHL-347 (5), Hall County has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP).

The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project’s area of potential environmental effect.

The proposed project would widen and realign SR 347 on new location in Hall County. The project begins approximately .6 km (.4 mi) northwest of Interstate 985 and continues northwesterly to an end point at Lake Lanier Islands. Required right-of- way is approximately 30 . 5 m (100 ft). An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted along the approximately 3.4 km (2.1 mi) project corridor.
