Abstract

"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project PR-226(093), Dooly County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.

The proposed project would consist of base preparation and paving of a portion of Watson Road/ CR 226 in

Dooly County. CR 226 currently has base, grading and drainage improvements. Existing right-of-way is 60 feet and all construction would be limited to the existing right-of-way. The project will begin at CR 213 and extend north for 0.34 mile. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted along the entire 0.34 mile project corridor.
