Abstract

Oglethorpe Power Corporation eastern Archeological Services resources survey site in Gwinnett contracted with South Inc., to conduct a cultural of a proposed 10 ac (4.05 ha) substation County, Georgia. No sites were located within this survey area. However, because the project impact zone is adjacent to an existing Georgia Power transmission line right-of-way which offered good surface visibility, a surface survey was conducted within this right-of-way in close proximity to the project area. As a result, two sites were located, neither of which are considered eligible for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places. It is the recommendation of the principal investigator that the proposed construction of the substation proceed.
