Abstract

This report documents the results of a Phase I cultural resources survey on the proposed site of the Tiger 115/12 kV Substation. The project area, located in Rabun County, Georgia encompasses 1.4 hectares (3.4 acres). The survey was conducted by Garrow & Associates, Inc., Atlanta for Oglethorpe Power Corporation, Tucker, Georgia. The Phase I field investigations were conducted on November 10, 1992. Utilizing pedestrian survey and systematic shovel testing across the project area, one previously unidentified prehistoric site was located. Due to the low density of artifacts and disturbance caused by borrowing activities, this site is recommended ineligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
