Abstract

This project proposes the milling, resurfacing, leveling, patching, shoulder building, and shoulder paving of SR 243 beginning at SR 18 in Wilkinson County and ending at US 441 in Baldwin County. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way with no new right-of-way required. Total project length is approximately 6.24 miles. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
