Abstract

Archeological Assessment of Project NHS-MOO 1-00(996), Bartow and Gordon Counties, Georgia, consists of bridge jacking involving four bridges over 1-75. The bridges will be jacked and the approaches raised. There will be no involvement with the waterways. This work will be completed within the existing right-of-way. No additional right-of-way will be required. Pursuant to the February 2000 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Federal Highway Administration (FHW A), the State Historic Preservation Officer of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (SHPO), and the Georgia Department of Transportation, this project is considered an undertaking as defined in 36 CFR 800.16(y), however, it has been determined there is no potential to affect historic properties included in or considered eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places.
