Abstract

"In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project STP-OOMS(406), Gwinnett County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.

The proposed project would consist of the leveling and resurfacing of a portion of SR 84 in Gwinnett County. Also included in the proposed project would be the paving of approximately 2 ft of the existing shoulders. The proposed project would begin just north of CR 1466/Whispering Pines Drive and would end at the intersection of SR 20. All construction would be limited to the existing right-of-way. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted along the entire project corridor.

STP-OOMS(406), Gwinnett- 142320 - This project would consist of the paving of a 2' section of the existing right and left shoulder and the leveling and resurfacing of SR 84 from just north of CR 1466/Whispering Pines Drive to SR 20. All work would be completed on the front slope and within the existing ROW. The total project length would be 3.12 miles.
