Abstract

On October 20, 1993, New South Associates conducted additional Phase I archeological survey of SR 120-A Site 1, which lies in the Maddox Street Extension corridor in Alpharetta. The work was conducted for Moreland Altobelli Associates, Inc. SR 120-A Site 1 was first located by New South Associates during a Phase I Archeological Survey of the SR 120 Extension and was identified through the presence of a structure in excess of 50 years old. New South Associates was not able to obtain land owner permission to intensively shovel test the site at the time of the initial survey. Additional work was delayed until after the right-of-way had been acquired. The additional shovel testing conducted at the site did not reveal intact deposits and SR 120-A Site 1 is not recommended for nomination to the National Register of Historic Places.
