Abstract

In compliance with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 and amendments thereto, project STP-036-2(17), Pierce County, has been surveyed with respect to archaeological resources, especially those on or eligible for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places (NRHP). The purpose of the survey was to locate, identify and evaluate the significance of any archaeological resources within the proposed project's area of potential environmental effect.

The proposed project would consist of the paving of approximately 2ft of the existing shoulders of a portion of SR 32 in Pierce County. The proposed project would begin at the Bacon County line (MP 0.00) and would end approximately 479ft east of Peach Avenue in the city of Patterson (MP 11.98). All construction would be limited to the existing right-of-way. An archaeological survey consistent with the project description was conducted along the entire project corridor.
